Default -Why Consoles Sux and Why You Should Play PC GAMES!!!!!!-

Ok before you console fans start flaming me read what i have to say:

1. I think consoles are fun to play with if you have the money.
2. I have a X-Box so dont say i never played a console.

Now here are my reasons why PC's are better:

1. Pc's can be used for other things other than games....(i kno u can mod ur console but that takes work)
2. Consoles like the x-box 360 cost like what? 300 bucks? then u prob will buy extra controllers.........memory cards for some....you might even have to buy a t.v lolz!....buy wire extenders......
3. PC internet is not free .... but u can go anywhere on the net.......xbox live.....ur paying monthly for it along with ur internet bill.......just to play games online.
4. PC can be upgraded.....graphics card outdated? ebay a new one. Console not working? SUX for u.
5. You might say well playing on the T.V is cool....and u get to watch t.v on it.....got news for ya.....get a media center pc........ i have hp m1264n media center pc and got it for $850.....came with remote and everything...i have a 19 inch monitor that came on sale with it.....prob i got everything for 1k. and i wasnt even shoppin for a deal when i got this....a t.v plus a console+console accessories == major hassle. my pc has a coaxial cable....6 a/v ports....front headphone microphone, s-video....radio tuner..t.v tuner..the works!
6. u can dload game mods and look up cheats/hints while u playing game..

7. u dont see people mugging people over pc deals....well at least not compared to the xbox.....

8. ooo and another thing.......MOUSE HAS GREATER PRECESSION IN SHOOTER GAMES!!!!!

anyway i think i left some things out on both sides but i think a computer will always be better than consoles....while consoles are cool i dont get spending extra money on one when u can just get a good comp to compensate for it...ur going to have to get a comp anyway......

... or just have one of everything ...

I'm a die-hard PC fan and I agree with the points you made.

However, the one clear advantage of console games over the PC remains with "fighter-type" games like "Dead or Alive 4," "Virtua Fighter 4" and "Tekken 5." ...or games in general that require 2 players on one screen like "Lego Star Wars" - which is absolutely atrocious (I played the demo) to play on a keyboard with one player - God, help anyone trying it with 2 players (unless you purchase console-style controllers for your PC).

i disagree, i love pc games, but, again, i disagree. I have played CS on the xbox and the pc, i am a lot better in the one for xbox- i can aim better with controllers. Also, in my opinion, PCs are alot more expensive then consoles. Consoles last for 5-6 years in game wise, and computers-2-3 years. Also, like Xue Yi liang said, it has more advantages- fighting games, multiplayer, and sports games for pcs suck.

Seriously, why does everyone try to compare consoles and PCs? They are totally different beasts people.

Well are not XBoxes Linux machines? It is coming to a point that there will be no different between the two. Then they will make a "Classic Style" computer for us die-hards. And they will charge an arm and a leg for them.

karaoke works better on a TV set - so I'll add karaoke games to the console side of the argument.

I can see people playing Sports games on a console. They are much easier for that. They are a nice back-up DVD player too. First person shooters are fine on a console...PC's too. I cannot stand the controler. Wait to some of you are older with arthritic hands....You will see my point there.

i enjoy both, I would never say a console sux and use the graphics card thing though...why? notice that consoles have a self life of about 5 years on average till the next one comes out. notice the games get better and badder as they go on during the 5 years. Why is it in 2 years your PC GPU needs and update to see a game in all its glory yet a console is fine for over 5 years. I wish I had a video card that would look awsome for 5 straight years.

I do prefer a PC, (superior in graphics and resolution! yes TV has HD now but honestly, HD is not as main stream yet as they have you believe, of how many ppl you know how many have HDTVs.....NOT HDTV ready TVs, does not qualify as you still need a HD converter box.) if you play a FPS or ANY RPG and not on a PC, your just depriving yourself of a better experience. Now Action/Adventure games like a Mario Zelda GTA or Metal Gear.....Console all the way. Sports games? console.

Yes you can get a controller for the PC but then you get to configure it for every game. but for a standard game, I would rather be loafin on the couch hooked in to the TV.

Both are great, I prefer a PC end of story.

don't knock it until you've tried it.

It was inevitable that I'd encounter it one day in a gathering of friends. But, once you've tried it, it's strangely addicting - and I can't sing worth anything ... I ought to be the last person in the world to like this sort of thing - but it fun in a most unexplainable way.

Someone back me up on this.

Or could it be your better on the PC at CS since the ppl who play CS on a console suck more and since you play on the PC as well you have experience with WAY better players. so console users are worlds easier to pwn.

My kids have a karaoke machine. It is kind fun. I have the FLATEST voice out there....it is fun to annoy the family when I go to Mass twice a year.

EDIT: BTW...I backed you up.

Well, my thread is an actual, real-world account of why console fanboys are the living end to society, because they got told by a manager of a store, and went batshit.

He's saying WHY those people are the...living end to society, and how to avoid it

Well don't overreact.
Some of us remember the days of Betamax vs. VHS. The outcome was a veritable "toss-up" even though the Betamax had better picture quality and physically smaller casettes. In the end the VHS won .... why? It was a "toss-up." People purchased the model for which most software (movies) was available and the vendors carried mostly what they percieved to be the most in demand, as I recall. This is called a "positive feedback loop." So it might be said that the slightest random perterbation in the market determined the victor.

...which comes to my point .... errr.... what was my point again? .... oh yeah. oh yeah. The outcome ultimately didn't matter because DVDs would inherit the earth (for now). No doubt the same will happen with the console vs. PC battle - in several years some universal uber-multimedia/gaming platform may emerge that will decimate both of them. The point is moot. Nothing lasts forever.

oh yeah, and thanks to Warrior Dood for backing me up ....

Well there is already a battle for HD-DVD....*sigh*

And that is why we do not have HD-DVDs yet....

Xue Yi Liang...no problem...We use to sit in front of the B&W TV set when I was a kid watch and singing to "Sing Along With Mitch.."

Follow the bouncing ball...

i am on the computer alot more than my playstation 2, and there are alot of advantages of the pc, but they have been mentioned, so i will mention a couple disadvantages,
1. keyboards!!! its nice to be able to talk to people in games and stuff, but i cant find keys worth a crap, and you have this SUPER-inconveniently located window button, that manages to close damn near anything, sometimes refusing to let it come back up, and it also ULTRA sensitive, almost to where it can feel you thinking about the ctrl button, and it goes ahead and does its seemingly pointless function

2. ERRORS!!!!! when is the last time you turned on a playstation and had 13 windows open, that you had to click ok to before you could do anything

3. POPUPS!!! i cant remember the last time i was playing playstation and had a penis enlargement ad place itself directly in the middle of my television screen, gotta love free ads
